As people age, they can begin to develop skin irregularities that make them feel self-conscious or anxious. Sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic keratosis are two of the most common skin growths people can develop as they age. If you’re looking for relief from these skin formations that doesn’t include extended downtime or discomfort, you may want to consider undergoing a Skin Classic treatment.
Renew Laser Clinic is proud to bring this treatment and many others to patients in the San Mateo area of California. If you’d like more information about our practice or are interested in scheduling a Skin Classic consultation appointment, contact us today!
What is the Skin Classic?
The Skin Classic is a new, non-laser treatment that uses high-frequency energy to eliminate skin irregularities. At Renew Laser Clinic, we use this non-invasive treatment to address sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic keratosis in our patients.
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a benign condition of the sebaceous glands of adults. It causes small soft and yellow papules to form on the face. Seborrheic keratosis is another harmless skin growth that also typically occurs in adults. They usually appear as brown, black, or light tan skin growths on the face, chest, shoulders, or back. While both of these growths are usually no cause for medical concern, many patients choose to have them removed because of the way they look.
How Does it Work?
During a Skin Classic treatment, a thin treatment applicator is used at the site of pores affected by sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic keratosis. A high-frequency electrical current is administered through the treatment applicator tip, dehydrating the uppermost layer of the skin and forcing excess sebum out of affected pores. In the days following treatment, patients slowly begin to see the appearance of their skin irregularities improving.
Am I a Candidate?
Nearly anyone suffering from sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic keratosis is a potential candidate for a Skin Classic treatment. However, before undergoing treatment, patients must first schedule a consultation appointment with a member of Renew Laser Clinic’s medical staff. During this consultation appointment, one of our medical professionals will examine each patient’s skin and ask them about their medical history; using this information, they will decide if a Skin Classic treatment is right for the patient.
